Sutral Adavu

Sutral Adavu Cholkettu - Tha Thai Thaam                         Dhit Thai Thaam Hastas/Mudras - Shikhara, Pathaka, Katakamukha and Alapadma Posture - Aramandalam Paada Behdas - Sama Padam, Agrathalasanchara, Anchitha Turns, twists and jumps are characteristic of these adavus. These adavus are expected to be done at a slow pace to display the beauty of the movements. But it is used nowadays in energetic higher speed renditions too. Sutral Adavu 1 - Shikhara in both hands, lift off ground with right foot followed by left and ending in a stretch of the right. At that point both hands are spread out in Natyarambha with right palm facing up. After this the stretched feet is brought back to aramandalam posture and right palm then faces down. Sharikal Adavu

Sharikal Adavu Cholkettu - Thayya Thayyi Hastas/Mudras - Pathaka, Katakamukha and Alapadma Posture - Samam, muzhumandalam Paada Behdas - Sama Paadam and Anchitha Slants and graceful movements are the most notable characteristics of this Adavu.  Pathaka is used in the first few adavus. The rest use Katakamukha and Alapadma. The movement of the the feet going into anchita and than samapaadam is a unique movement in this set of Adavus.

  Thatti Kudittu Mettu Adavu Cholkettu - Tha Thai Tha Ha                          Dhit Thai Tha Ha Hastas/Mudras - Thripathaka, Katakamukha and Alapadma Posture - Aramandalam  Paada Behdas - Thattu and Mettu As the name suggests Thattu, Kudippu and Mettu are the movements used in this adavu. 2 thattu, kudippu and meettu on one feet is how the feet movements go.
